Enhanced Rock Weathering

In nature, rock weathering helps to remove carbon dioxide (CO₂) from the atmosphere. When water and CO₂ combine, they form carbonic acid, which reacts with basalt and other rocks that compose the Earth’s surface.

This interaction transforms CO₂ into bicarbonate (HCO₃^-) effectively storing CO₂ in a more stable form for tens of thousands of years. By crushing rocks and increasing their surface area, we can accelerate this process.

The mining industry already engages in rock crushing as part of its daily operations. Vaulterra can repurpose their unused product to perform ERW.
